Oftentimes, a successful printing project starts way before we push the press button. It needs a sound planning and good coordination among the printer, customer, designer and other professionals. Over the years, we have gained a lot of experience working with full-grown publishing houses and national chains which require not only a complete understanding of bookmaking process on the technical part, but also a seamless connection with their logistics service providers to ensure flawless preparation of shipping documentations.
For those individual artists, photographers or teachers with less or no publishing experience, we will work closely with them from the very outset—sometimes two or three years before the project actually goes to press because some mistakes in certain areas will eventually ruin the whole project down the road. This way, we can help our first-time individual publishers pinpoint some major traps like the wrong choice of book layout software or wrong picture color format. Sometimes, we need to send out reminders of getting the bar code, or adding a table of contents or an index, or fixing the wrong placement page folios. Besides, we always keep the communications channel open every step of the way with our individual publishers to make sure they get all the areas under control.
